Artist's Description

A stone lion on the Grain Exchange building stands guard near City Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. City Hall and Hennepin County Courthouse (also known as the Municipal Building), designed by Long and Kees in 1888, is the main building used by the city government of Minneapolis, Minnesota as well as by Hennepin County. The stone lion is on the Grain Exchange Building, which dates from 1900, and this vantage point is in a skyway. Both buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places.

About Jim Hughes

Jim Hughes

I'm a photographer in Minneapolis, interested in many things. Sometimes I start with a plan, and sometimes something just catches my eye. I like to come up with my own spin on a subject and create an image with some sort of a twist. And when I know what I want, I'll spend a lot of time getting it. If you're looking for a specific photo and not finding it, just email me at jim-hughes@outlook.com.
