Artist's Description

A bumble bee gathering nectar from a flowering Rhododenron in early spring.
Since only the queens survive the winter, this has to be a queen. They emerge early, start gathering food and preparing a nest.

About Jim Hughes

Jim Hughes

I'm a photographer in Minneapolis, interested in many things. Sometimes I start with a plan, and sometimes something just catches my eye. I like to come up with my own spin on a subject and create an image with some sort of a twist. And when I know what I want, I'll spend a lot of time getting it. If you're looking for a specific photo and not finding it, just email me at jim-hughes@outlook.com.
