Artist's Description

This classic Art Deco obelisk was the talk of Minneapolis when it opened in November of 1929; but 6 weeks later, Wilbur Foshay was bankrupt, brought down by the financial crash. Today, the "Foshay" name still lights up before the sun goes down.

About Jim Hughes

Jim Hughes

I'm a photographer in Minneapolis, interested in many things. Sometimes I start with a plan, and sometimes something just catches my eye. I like to come up with my own spin on a subject and create an image with some sort of a twist. And when I know what I want, I'll spend a lot of time getting it. If you're looking for a specific photo and not finding it, just email me at jim-hughes@outlook.com.
