Description
Many different doors open onto Hennepin Avenue, a street in Minneapolis with a history best described as 'colorful'. Few have a stranger story than this revolving brass door: originally installed 1880 in the Commodore Hotel in New York City, connecting it to Grand Central Station; saved from demolition and installed in the Minneapolis Lumber Exchange Building in 1979. The Lumber Exchange Building was, on completion in 1885, the tallest building in Minneapolis and is today the oldest building outside of New York City with 12 or more floors.
