Description
The Romanesque rotunda of Minneapolis City Hall), designed by Long and Kees in 1888. The sculpture is "Father of Waters," by American sculptor Larkin Goldsmith Mead who lived in Florence, Italy at the time. According to legend, rubbing his big toe brings good luck. It represents the Mississippi Rive and was placed inside the building in 1906. This wide angle view was captured with a fisheye lens. The pinkish cast at the top of the rotunda is real, created by the tinted glass.
