Artist's Description

A section of 19th century railroad track in the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The museum opened in 2003, built in the ruins of the Washburn "A" Mill next to Mill Ruins Park on the banks of the Mississippi River. The original mill was destroyed by an explosion in 1870. The museum focuses on the founding and growth of Minneapolis, especially flour milling and the other industries that used water power from Saint Anthony Falls. This section of track sits in its original location. The mill complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

About Jim Hughes

Jim Hughes

I'm a photographer in Minneapolis, interested in many things. Sometimes I start with a plan, and sometimes something just catches my eye. I like to come up with my own spin on a subject and create an image with some sort of a twist. And when I know what I want, I'll spend a lot of time getting it. If you're looking for a specific photo and not finding it, just email me at jim-hughes@outlook.com.
