A red-winged blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) surveys his domain in a Minnesota marsh. When making their characteristic call, they fluff up their feathers and try to look imposing; this one is just about to sound off. This bird likes wetlands and grassy, open areas, especially where cattails are found.
