Artist's Description

After a wet summer, the cattails are tall in Minnesota wetlands. Cattails (Typha), also known as bulrushes, are considered a pest by some; they're invasive and can choke a wetland. But they provide wonderful habitat for birds and small mammals. If harvested at the end of summer, they improve water quality by removing excess nutrients and pollution from runoff. I like them.
